IMSTAR S.A. and Jenoptik expand their Co-operation in the Fields of Microscopy

Jena, August 2008

Imstar and Jenoptik co-operate for more than one year in the fields of microscopy and image analysis for clinical research and diagnostics. Recently a large volume order for more than 400 systems for hospitals in the People’s Republic of China has been completed.

Now the co-operation of Imstar and Jenoptik shall be expanded in the European market, where in the future Imstar will offer their system solutions with integrated Jenoptik microscope cameras.

The key component to reliable image analysis is the Jenoptik ProgRes®, a powerful camera that fits the particular application

A crucial factor for reliable image analysis is a system’s integrated camera which must equally be adapted to the specific application. Again, the camera system’s flexibility is an important feature besides performance to required specifications. “This is why the IMSTAR system’s integrated camera plays a key role with Jenoptik delivering the top quality that we need”, explains Françoise Soussaline, IMSTAR’s CEO.

ProgRes® microscope cameras: flexible and powerful performance for reliable image acquisition in different applications

Jenoptik’s ProgRes® product family comprises a broad range of microscope cameras with different image resolution capabilities up to 12.5 mega pixels. Available configurations include color sensors or sensitive monochrome sensors with optional cooling. This allows the camera’s performance to be optimally tuned to the requirements of the Pathfinder™ image capture step.

A software development kit is provided to support seamless integration for systems embedding image capture and automated analysis. “In line with our motto ’Making High Quality Imaging affordable’ ProgRes® microscope cameras offer top features at an excellent price-performance ratio, whilst providing high flexibility at the same time. Both qualities are of paramount significance to system integrators like IMSTAR“, remarks Simon Schwinger, responsible at Jenoptik for European sales of ProgRes® cameras for micro and macro applications.
